DSCE 2026 is officially over, and what a weekend it was!
Mother Nature certainly had other ideas, with one of the hottest UK heatwaves on record arriving just in time for the event. Water temperatures soared, the carp switched off, and for the first time in DSCE history, not a single fish was landed.
But here's the thing... DSCE has never just been about catching carp.
It's about bringing people together, sharing laughs, supporting each other, and raising money for an incredible cause. In that respect, this year's event was another huge success.
The anglers battled through blistering temperatures, trying everything from traditional tactics to stalking fish in the margins, but the carp simply weren't playing ball. Sometimes that's fishing.
Away from the rods, the atmosphere was fantastic. Cold drinks, a BBQ, plenty of laughs, and great company made for another memorable weekend.
Highlights included:
• Anglers cooling off by sitting in the margins together... definitely a first for DSCE!
• A brilliant evening social around the BBQ with friends old and new.
• Our very first DSCE Team Quiz. Congratulations to Team Lizards for taking the win!
• The infamous "Guess the Weight of the Log" challenge, which proved far harder than anyone expected!
• An incredible charity raffle packed with amazing prizes.
A huge thank you to all the companies and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes in support of the DSCE Charity Fishing Event and helped us raise £585 for Prostate Cancer UK. Your support, generosity, and commitment to this great cause made a real difference.
We are incredibly grateful to Snag Tackle, Jurassic Particles, Max Attract Baits, CC Moore, Julian Cundiff, ESP Carp Gear, Selfie Fish, RidgeMonkey, YETI, Carpify, Rapala, Dynamite Baits, Carp Spirit, Active Bait Solutions, and Assassin Tackle for contributing such fantastic prizes.
Thanks to your support, we were able to create an exciting raffle, engage more participants, and raise valuable funds and awareness in the fight against prostate cancer. On behalf of everyone involved, thank you for helping make the event such a success; it was our biggest to date.
I also want to thank the anglers who attended, as their payment was what raised the following:
£750 to Waggy Tails Dog Rescue
£750 to Homeless Veterans UK
£585 for Prostate Cancer UK from the Raffle
In total, a fantastic £2085 for three charities, which is amazing.
DSCE has now raised over £6000 in the last 3 years.
We now look forward to DSCE 2027, which now has so much interest there is a waiting list to enter.
A final big thanks to the fishery owner, who allows this venue to be used each year.
